Position: Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEND

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Marple area of Stockport, supporting a child with complex SEND requirements on a 1:1 basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can build a strong, positive relationship with the pupil they are working with.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to a child with complex additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially. The role will involve working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to provide consistent, individualised support.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly complex needs
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour or complex needs
• Team Teach / positive handling training would be highly desirable
• Moving & Handling training would be advantageous
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
