HR Advisor
Up to £32,990 per annum
Full Time - Fixed Term (1st September 2027)
Manchester City Centre (Hybrid)
Are you an experienced HR Advisor looking for a role where you can make an immediate impact? We are seeking a confident HR professional with strong Employee Relations experience to join a busy HR team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role is ideally suited to an established HR Advisor who is comfortable working independently, managing a varied caseload and providing expert advice to managers on complex people matters. A significant proportion of the role will focus on Employee Relations casework, requiring someone with recent experience handling formal HR processes from start to finish.
You will be responsible for advising managers, interpreting employment legislation and HR policies, supporting investigations and hearings, and ensuring best practice is followed across a range of employee relations matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing positive people outcomes.
The role involves:

• Providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the organisation
• Managing a varied Employee Relations caseload including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters
• Leading and supporting workplace investigations, hearings and appeals
• Advising managers on employment law, HR policy and best practice
• Coaching and challenging managers to support effective decision-making
• Ensuring robust documentation and procedural compliance throughout formal processes
• Supporting organisational change projects and consultation processes
• Analysing HR data and trends to support business improvements
• Building effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Contributing to the development of HR policies, procedures and initiatives

You’ll need:

• Recent experience operating at HR Advisor level
• Strong Employee Relations casework experience with responsibility for managing multiple cases simultaneously
• Proven experience handling disciplinary, grievance, absence management, investigation and capability cases
• A sound understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice
• Experience supporting managers through complex and sensitive people matters
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• CIPD qualified, working towards CIPD, or equivalent practical HR experience
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and confidence challenging constructively where appropriate
