Position: Year 6 Teacher

Contract: Full-time, long-term
Duration: Possibility of a full academic year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced KS2 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in West Didsbury, through Tradewind Recruitment.

This is a full-time, long-term position with the possibility of continuing for the full academic year for the right candidate.

The school is a well-established, diverse primary at the heart of the local community. It has high expectations for pupils, with a strong focus on reading, vocabulary, English and maths, while developing confident, independent learners who are ready for their next stage of education. The school also places a strong emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing and helping pupils become responsible members of their community.

You will take responsibility for a Year 6 class, delivering engaging and purposeful lessons across the KS2 curriculum. You will play an important role in preparing pupils for SATs and the transition to secondary school, while ensuring they remain motivated and enjoy their final year of primary education.

You will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering high-quality Year 6 lessons
• Preparing pupils for SATs and secondary transition
• Using assessment to identify gaps and adapt teaching
• Providing appropriate support and challenge
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and presentation
• Developing pupils' independence, confidence and resilience
• Working closely with colleagues and families to support pupils

You will need:

• QTS
• Recent primary teaching experience
• Good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
• Strong classroom management
• Excellent organisational skills
