Job Description:

Treasury and Investment Manager | £65,000 | Greater Manchester | Agile working

We’re partnering with a social housing provider in Greater Manchester to recruit an experienced Treasury and Investment Manager to lead treasury activity and strengthen financial oversight across development and capital investment programmes.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing two team members, this is a broad, hands-on role with strategic oversight of the organisation’s treasury and investment activity. You’ll lead on cash and liquidity planning, debt and covenant management, lender relationships, funding activity, development reporting and asset and liability information, while taking a longer-term view of funding, risk and financial strategy.

The Role

This role needs someone who is comfortable working in the detail, but who can also step back from the month-to-month activity and provide wider strategic insight and oversight.

You’ll take responsibility for:

• Developing and maintaining treasury strategy, policies, controls and reporting.
• Managing cash forecasts, liquidity and overall cash balances.
• Overseeing loan drawdowns, repayments, interest forecasting and covenant compliance.
• Managing relationships with banks, lenders and treasury advisers.
• Supporting new funding, refinancing and securitisation activity.
• Providing forward-looking analysis to support longer-term funding, investment and financial planning.
• Leading financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for development and capital investment programmes.
• Working closely with budget holders to understand scheme performance, explain variances and identify emerging financial risks.
• Supporting statutory accounts, audit and regulatory reporting.
• Maintaining asset, liability and security information and supporting option appraisals, acquisitions, disposals and new developments.
• Overseeing the organisation’s insurance portfolio.
• Managing, developing and supporting two members of the Finance team.

About You

• You’ll be a qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA – or hold a relevant treasury qualification, with strong practical treasury management experience.
• You should bring experience across cash forecasting, loan and debt management, covenant monitoring and treasury reporting, together with a good understanding of the social housing environment.
• Just as importantly, you’ll be able to look beyond routine monthly reporting, identify future funding and financial risks, and translate detailed treasury information into clear strategic insight for senior leaders.
• Experience working alongside development or growth teams on new-build, investment or acquisition activity is particularly important, as is the ability to provide clear financial advice and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders and budget holders.
• Strong Excel skills, sound financial controls and the ability to build effective relationships with lenders, advisers and internal teams will also be key.
