Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs | Rochdale

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school in Rochdale, supporting pupils within a complex needs class.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with recent SEND experience who is confident supporting pupils with complex needs, SEMH and challenging behaviour.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with complex SEND needs within a specialist classroom
• Supporting learning, communication, personal development and independence
• Managing and responding positively to challenging behaviour
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team
• Providing consistent, nurturing and individualised support

To be considered, you must:

• Have recent experience supporting children or young people in a SEND school or specialist provision
• Have experience supporting pupils with complex SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Be confident working in high-needs environments
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
• Provide a full employment and education history with references
• Have the legal right to work in the UK
