As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to become a key member of our senior technical team and help shape the future direction of our technical services function.

This is a senior technical position for someone who wants to do more than simply support technology. We are looking for somebody who wants to influence technical standards, drive improvements, lead projects, mentor engineers and play a major role in the future growth of the business.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer who can provide technical leadership across our client environments, lead infrastructure and cloud projects, and act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues.

This is not a traditional support role.

While technical expertise remains essential, success in this role will come from taking ownership, driving improvements, building trusted client relationships and helping shape the future direction of our services.

You will work closely with senior management to define technical standards, improve security, support strategic decision-making and help ensure the continued growth and success of the business.

You will have significant input into technical standards, service development, technology selection and the future direction of our technical services function.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud

• Design, implement and support Windows Server infrastructure environments.
• Design, deploy and manage Microsoft Azure environments.
• Lead Azure migration and infrastructure modernisation projects.
• Design and maintain hybrid cloud solutions.
• Manage Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and Intune.
• Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support virtualisation platforms.
• Support business-critical infrastructure platforms and associated application environments.
• Design, deploy and support network infrastructures including switching, wireless, SD-WAN and site-to-site connectivity.
• Diagnose and resolve WAN, VPN and connectivity issues across multi-site environments.
• Develop infrastructure standards and best practices across client environments.
• Implement and maintain secure password management solutions using Keeper Security.
• Act as technical owner for infrastructure, cloud and security standards across managed client environments.

Security & Compliance

• Design and implement security best practices across client environments.
• Manage Conditional Access, MFA and identity security solutions.
• Support Cyber Essentials and security improvement initiatives.
• Assist with vulnerability management and remediation activities.
• Help clients improve their Microsoft Secure Score and overall security posture.
• Participate in infrastructure and security incident response activities.
• Administer and support Keeper Security password management environments.
• Promote best practice around privileged access management, password security and identity protection.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Projects & Consultancy

• Lead infrastructure transformation projects.
• Deliver Microsoft 365 / Azure migration and modernisation projects.
• Produce technical designs, implementation plans and project documentation.
• Conduct infrastructure reviews and provide recommendations.
• Build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders.
• Act as a strategic technical advisor for key client accounts.
• Provide consultancy and technical guidance to clients.
• Assist with pre-sales activities, project scoping and technical workshops.
• Support the development of new service offerings and technical capabilities.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership across the engineering team.
• Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and cloud-related issues.
• Mentor and support engineers across the technical team.
• Assist with technical reviews, solution design and project governance.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, documentation and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, services and operational processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency and security.
• Work closely with management to shape the future growth of the technical services department.
