Job Description:
We're working with a leading UK engineering and construction business that has secured its place on a major AMP8 framework programme worth over £3 billion. With a strong pipeline of projects stretching across the next five years, the organisation is delivering large-scale investments that will modernise wastewater treatment facilities, reduce storm overflows, and help protect hundreds of kilometres of rivers and coastal waters.
This is an opportunity to join a growing, highly respected team where you'll have a direct impact on both the built environment and local communities while advancing your own career within a thriving and financially robust business.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving civil engineering excellence across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects.
Working from early-stage feasibility through detailed design, construction and commissioning, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring civil engineering solutions are efficient, safe, sustainable, and fully integrated with multidisciplinary project teams.
You will also have the opportunity to influence best practice, mentor developing engineers, and help shape the future delivery of critical national infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and supporting the development of civil engineering designs for major water and wastewater projects.
- Ensuring designs comply with all relevant legislation, standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborating closely with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical and buildable solutions.
- Managing interfaces between civil engineering and other technical disciplines.
- Undertaking technical reviews and acting as a technical checker for engineering deliverables.
- Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, adopting a collaborative "one team" approach.
- Identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency improvements, digital engineering solutions, and sustainable design practices.
- Conducting site visits and constructability reviews to ensure successful project delivery.
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers, graduates, and colleagues across the wider engineering team.
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with an appropriate professional institution (advantageous)
- Proven experience delivering high-quality engineering solutions within regulated infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of design, quality, safety, and project delivery requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A structured and methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Why Join?
This is more than just another engineering role.
You'll be joining a business delivering infrastructure projects that directly improve environmental outcomes, enhance public services, and support communities across the UK. With a secured workload, significant investment programme, and strong focus on innovation and professional development, the opportunity offers genuine long-term career growth.
