Semi-Skilled Fitters Required - Aerospace Manufacturing

Winsearch UK are currently recruiting for two Semi-Skilled Fitters on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturing business based in Dukinfield. The successful candidates will have previous experience in structural assembly or aerospace manufacturing and will be responsible for carrying out a variety of fitting and assembly operations to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out aircraft structural and airframe assembly operations in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting and associated fitting activities.
• Install and fit bearings, bushes, helicoils and other aerospace components.
• Apply sealants and adhesives in accordance with process requirements.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment in line with company Health & Safety procedures and 5S standards.
• Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing schedules and customer requirements.
• Report any defects, quality concerns or equipment issues promptly.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience within an aerospace, aviation, engineering or manufacturing assembly environment.
• Experience of structural assembly or airframe fitting activities.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge and practical experience of:
  • Drilling
  • Countersinking
  • Riveting
  • Application of sealants
  • Installation of helicoils
  • Fitting of bearings and bushes

   

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work safely and adhere to site Health & Safety requirements.

Desirable

• Previous aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Experience working to aerospace quality standards.
• Apprenticeship or engineering-related qualifications.

Selection Process

Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited to attend a two-stage interview process.

As part of the final stage, applicants will be required to undertake a practical trade test to demonstrate their ability to carry out assembly and fitting processes to aerospace quality standards.
