The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Executive to join a growing technology solutions business operating across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the IT sector and is confident speaking with customers about technology products and solutions. You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships and helping clients identify the right technology solutions for their requirements.

IT product knowledge is essential for this position. We are looking for someone who can comfortably discuss technology with customers and understands the commercial IT landscape.

The successful candidate will receive a basic salary of £30,000–£35,000 plus an attractive commission structure, providing excellent earning potential for a strong salesperson.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets.
• Proactively engage prospective customers through telephone, email, LinkedIn and other sales channels.
• Build and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Develop long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate IT products, services and solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial presentations.
• Manage opportunities through the complete sales cycle from initial contact through to close.
• Work closely with technical, operational and vendor teams to develop solutions for customers.
• Maintain accurate records of customer activity, opportunities and forecasts within the CRM.
• Achieve agreed revenue, margin and sales targets.
• Keep up to date with developments across the IT and technology market.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Strong knowledge of IT products and technology is essential.
• Previous experience within IT sales, technology sales, account management or business development is highly desirable.
• A good understanding of areas such as hardware, infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, software and/or managed IT services.
• Confident communicating with both commercial and technical stakeholders.
• Strong prospecting and new-business development skills.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into commercially appropriate solutions.
• Excellent telephone, written and presentation skills.
• Commercially aware with a strong focus on achieving targets.
• Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and prioritising a busy sales pipeline.
• Self-motivated, proactive and keen to develop a long-term career within technology sales.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a confident salesperson who has a genuine interest in technology and enjoys developing new customer relationships.

You don't necessarily need to be a technical engineer, but you must have a solid understanding of IT products and terminology and be able to hold credible conversations with customers about their technology requirements.

You will be comfortable generating your own opportunities as well as developing incoming leads, and you'll have the drive to take ownership of opportunities from initial conversation through to successful close.

Experience selling into public sector, government, defence or larger commercial organisations would be advantageous but is not essential.
