Principal Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

Greater Manchester | Hybrid Working | Up to £70,000 + Benefits

An opportunity for an experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a major multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering technically complex projects across the UK and Europe.

The Role

You will take a leading role in the mechanical design and delivery of complex Building Services projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

You will be responsible for technical delivery, design reviews, coordination, mentoring engineers and helping ensure projects are delivered to the required technical and commercial standards.

What are we looking for?

You will ideally have:

• Strong UK Mechanical Building Services design experience

• Experience delivering projects through multiple RIBA stages

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical services and associated Building Services systems

• Experience leading projects and supporting/mentoring engineers

• Strong client-facing and multidisciplinary coordination skills

• Experience within technically complex sectors would be advantageous

This would particularly suit a Senior Mechanical Engineer ready to step up to Principal, or an established Principal looking for larger projects, stronger technical exposure and a clearer long-term progression route.
