Reporting to: Laboratory Team Lead

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pressure Calibration Engineer to join a leading UKAS-accredited calibration laboratory based near Manchester. This role is focused on working independently within our pressure laboratory, taking full responsibility for both practical calibration work and the technical requirements associated with the discipline. You will be instrumental in performing precision calibrations, resolving technical issues, and ensuring full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

This is a key position within an established calibration business, offering the opportunity to take an active role in maintaining, developing, and expanding our pressure calibration capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Quality

Precision Calibration: Perform independent pressure calibrations using pressure controllers, pressure calibrators, and associated precision instrumentation.

Certification & Compliance: Maintain rigorous measurement traceability and produce accurate calibration certificates fully aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 / UKAS standards.

Uncertainty & Technical Oversight: Apply a strong understanding of measurement uncertainty budgets, investigating out-of-tolerance / out-of-specification results and resolving technical issues.

Audits & Non-Conformance: Support internal and UKAS audits, audit preparation, non-conformance investigations, and corrective actions.

Operational Efficiency

Procedure Maintenance: Maintain, review, and continuously improve laboratory procedures to enhance technical capabilities and workflow efficiency.

Cost Control: Ensure "right-first-time" calibration practices to minimize rework, maximize resource utilization, and hit turnaround targets.

Continuous Improvement: Identify process enhancements to optimize laboratory performance and quality management standards.

Team & Safety

Technical Guidance: Provide internal technical support, share pressure calibration expertise, and assist in maintaining laboratory operational excellence.

Safety First: Strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental protocols within the laboratory environment.
