Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer

Salford
Up to £50,000, Permanent
On-site parking
Alternating shifts: Week 1: 7:00am to 3:00pm | Week 2: 10:00am to 6:00pm

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer to join a well-established engineering team in Salford. This role is ideal for an electrically qualified engineer looking to work within a busy and varied maintenance environment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities while supporting the operation of critical building services.

Key Responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and associated plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults, undertake repairs, and commission electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical and building services equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations, statutory requirements, and site procedures.
• Complete maintenance records, permits, and associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Identify additional works required and proactively report potential issues before they become critical.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver a high-quality maintenance service.
• Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high engineering standards across the site.

The Successful Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer Will Have

• A recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance within a commercial, industrial, or facilities management environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical systems.
• Experience working on lighting, small power, and general building services systems.
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• A sound understanding of health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
• A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within a critical environment, healthcare setting, or facilities management contract.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Authorised Person or Competent Person experience.
