Job Description:

Purpose of the role

As a Management Accountant, you will work as the number two to our Associate Director of Finance, playing a key role in our monthly management accounts process. Working closely with the entire Internal Finance team, you will take a professional, proactive and measurable approach to our internal accounts, ultimately delivering an outstanding service to the wider business. You will be an excellent communicator, with strong project and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, delivering them on time and to an exceptionally high standard.

Roles and responsibilities

• Month end processes including prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Overall responsibility of the company purchase ledger payment runs
• Assisting the Associate Director of Finance with various administrative tasks including Parent Company reporting, margin reporting, VAT returns and cash flow management
• Management information reporting for external frameworks
• Managing relationships with a number of key company suppliers
• Creating and approving payments within the banking system
• Supporting the Finance Assistant with their weekly accounts processes such as bank reconciliations, expenses, credit cards, sales invoices and purchase invoices
• Supporting and providing information to other areas of the business on a monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis
• Providing information to and liaising with company auditors at year end
• Working with the finance team on ad hoc projects e.g. changing accounting / payroll software
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes, streamline reporting, and strengthen financial controls

Key experience, knowledge and skills

• Strong management accounting and month-end experience
• Experience with Xero accounting software desirable
• Fully qualified or part-qualified CIMA or ACCA
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced Excel knowledge as a minimum including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Proven time management, project management and organisational skills
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and activities to tight deadlines
• Key team player
