Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Oldham
£100–£120 per day | September start | Long-term
Smile Education are recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work within a secondary school in Oldham.
This role is only suitable for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, or an equivalent education/childcare qualification.
Applicants without a relevant Level 3 qualification will not be considered.
The Role
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across KS3 and KS4, working alongside teaching staff to help students access learning, stay engaged and make progress.
The role may involve in-class support, one-to-one work, small-group intervention and supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils across KS3 and KS4.
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Assist teaching staff with classroom routines and learning activities.
• Support pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional needs where required.
• Help pupils remain focused, engaged and on task.
• Promote positive behaviour and clear expectations.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
• Applicants without a relevant Level 3 qualification will not be considered.
• Experience working with children or young people in an education setting is required.
• Secondary school experience is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional needs is beneficial.
• You must be reliable, professional, patient and adaptable.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills are essential.
• You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
• You must have the right to work in the UK.
