Job Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an HGV Technician to join their reputable and well-established organisation in Stockport. This permanent opportunity offers a range of shifts, excellent benefits and long-term career stability.

As an HGV Technician, you will play an important role in maintaining a reliable and compliant commercial vehicle fleet. The position is well suited to an experienced HGV Technician seeking a stable role with a forward-thinking employer.

Duties of a HGV Technician:

• Maintain and repair commercial vehicles to manufacturer and VOSA standards
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Complete scheduled inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing
• Ensure vehicle availability aligns with delivery schedules
• Promote and uphold health and safety standards within the workshop
• Maintain a clean, organised and audit-ready working environment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Vehicle Maintenance Unit
• Work flexibly across a range of VMU tasks as required

Requirements:

• Proven experience in HGV fleet maintenance, ideally within a commercial environment
• City & Guilds HGV qualifications or an equivalent LGV Vehicle Crafts qualification
• Level 2 qualification as a minimum; Level 3, IRTEC or IMI accreditation is advantageous
• Strong diagnostic, organisational and teamwork skills
• Proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
• LGV C+E licence desirable but not essential
