An established specialist contractor and surveying business within the Passive Fire Protection and Building Safety sector is looking to appoint a Head of Sales to spearhead its commercial development and help shape its next phase of growth.

This is a strategically important appointment, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the commercial direction of the business, develop new markets and establish a stronger platform for sustainable growth across new-build and remedial projects.

With significant opportunities across housing, construction and building safety, this is a role for someone who can combine commercial vision with the ability to turn strategy into tangible results.

The opportunity:

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will define and execute the commercial strategy, identify opportunities for expansion and build a sales operation capable of delivering ambitious growth objectives.

Your focus will include:

• Commercial strategy: Establishing a clear sales and growth strategy, identifying new markets, opportunities and routes to revenue.
• Business development: Developing senior relationships across housing associations, local authorities, developers, main contractors and wider construction markets.
• Frameworks & tendering: Driving opportunities through public-sector frameworks, procurement processes and major commercial tenders.
• Commercial performance: Taking ownership of sales plans, budgets, forecasts, pipeline development and profitability.
• Strategic relationships: Leading major commercial negotiations and developing long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
• Team leadership: Building, developing and managing a sales team, creating the structure, capability and direction required to support future growth.
• Business influence: Working alongside technical, surveying and operational leadership to align commercial strategy with business capability and long-term objectives.

The person:

We are looking for a commercially driven Head of Sales/ sales leader with the credibility, sector knowledge and ambition to take ownership of a business's commercial development.

You will ideally bring:

• A strong background in Passive Fire Protection, fire safety, building compliance or a closely related construction environment.
• A proven track record of developing commercial strategies and delivering sustainable sales growth.
• A strong understanding of public-sector frameworks, tendering and competitive procurement.
• Knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation, building regulations and compliance requirements.
• The ability to identify market opportunities, develop senior relationships and convert them into profitable business.
• Experience of leading or developing a sales team, with the ability to build a high-performing commercial function.
