An established contractor is seeking a Head of Pre-Construction to join team in their Bolton office. This strategic role offers the chance to shape and deliver business development and pre-construction activities, positioning the company as the contractor of choice within the housing asset management sector.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create business vision and strategy.
• Lead business development by cultivating customer, framework, and consultant relationships.
• Manage the regional bid team to ensure the best bid solutions for the regions.
• Develop a steady pipeline of opportunities to meet turnover targets.
• Ensure effective collaboration with operations and commercial teams.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support their delivery and personal growth.
• Lead knowledge development and sharing to upskill team members.
• Engage with the supply chain to secure commitment and best solutions.
• Provide technical advice for bids and the wider business.
• Encourage innovation and best practice across the business.
• Stay updated with industry changes to maintain and improve commercial knowledge.
• Promote company vision, values, equality, and diversity.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven people management skills with clear expectations and management.
• Ability to develop and mentor team members.
• Successful track record in bid/tender delivery within planned maintenance/asset management across social housing projects - Minimum relevant Undergraduate Degree (e.g., BSc) or equivalent
• MCIOB or RICS qualification or equivalent
• Clean driving licence.
• Knowledge of sustainability and decarbonisation.
• Relevant leadership qualification or working towards (desirable).
