Road Freight Business Development Manager (BDM)

Up to £45,000

An established international logistics provider is seeking an experienced Road Freight Business Development Manager to drive growth across key European trade lanes. This is a high-impact commercial role focused on expanding road freight volumes and building long-term, profitable customer relationships.

• UK ↔ Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg)
• UK ↔ Germany
• UK ↔ Ireland

You will play a central role in developing these core corridors, identifying new business opportunities and converting them into sustainable revenue streams.

This is a pure business development and revenue growth position, ideal for a commercially driven logistics professional who excels at winning new accounts. Responsibilities include:

• Proactively generating new business across European road freight markets
• Driving lead generation through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and market research
• Building and managing a strong sales pipeline from prospect through to close
• Developing tailored freight solutions across groupage, LTL, and FTL services
• Working closely with operational and pricing teams to ensure service delivery and margin growth
• Maintaining a strong commercial presence within your assigned trade lanes

• Proven success in business development within road freight / freight forwarding / logistics
• Strong track record in lead generation and converting new business opportunities
• Solid understanding of European road freight networks, particularly UK-Benelux, UK-Germany, and UK-Ireland trade flows
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and close profitable deals
• Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently
