We’re working with an established consumer goods business whose products are “loved” by a loyal customer base and already in demand. They’re now looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to take the business into its next phase of growth.

About You

We’re looking for a proven sales professional from the consumer goods sector who knows how to open doors and win new business.

You’ll be:

• A genuine hunter, capable of sourcing and converting your own leads
• Experienced in selling into retailers and discount channels
• Resilient, ambitious and driven to succeed
• Confident prospecting and building relationships from scratch
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
• Naturally tenacious — you don’t give up when the first door closes
• Capable of developing strategic, long-term relationships with key customers

About The Role

• As Business Development Manager, you’ll take ownership of identifying and converting new commercial opportunities across the retail and discount channels.
• You’ll be responsible for opening doors, developing relationships, pitching opportunities and ultimately winning new business.
• You’ll work closely with internal teams including Product Development and Purchasing and Customer Care, ensuring customer opportunities are aligned with the wider business and can be delivered successfully.
• This is a hybrid role with genuine autonomy. You’ll manage your own diary, balancing customer meetings, prospecting and internal collaboration, with one day each week onsite in Derbyshire.
