Are you a Behaviour Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Behaviour Support Worker who knows how to turn a challenging day into a positive one?

A welcoming, two-form entry primary school in Stockport is looking to recruit an engaging, patient and personable Behaviour Mentor to support Key Stage 2 pupils who display challenging behaviour.

This is an opportunity to help children build confidence, develop positive relationships and get the most out of their school day. You'll need a calm head, strong communication skills, and the ability to bring out the best in pupils-even when the classroom gets a little lively!

What you'll be doing

• Providing targeted support to KS2 pupils within their mainstream classrooms.
• Building trusting relationships and encouraging positive behaviour.
• Using effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Helping pupils manage emotions, make positive choices and stay engaged in learning.
• Supporting children with additional needs, including SEND, where required.
• Working closely with teachers and the wider school team to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Celebrating small wins and helping pupils recognise their progress.

We're looking for someone who

• Has experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally with challenging behaviour or SEND.
• Is patient, approachable, resilient and naturally engaging.
• Has strong behaviour management skills and can remain calm under pressure.
• Uses positive reinforcement, clear boundaries and consistent expectations.
• Communicates well and builds rapport with children and colleagues.
• Has Team Teach training or equivalent positive handling/de-escalation training (desirable).
