Pay: £92.56 – £100.00 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term-Time Only)

About the Role

Working across Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), you will act as a positive role model and anchor for pupils presenting with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviours. You will run 1:1 mentoring sessions, organize structured active play and sports activities during breaktimes, and support pupils in the classroom to help them stay focused, regulated, and engaged with their learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering 1:1 and small-group mentoring sessions focused on emotional regulation, focus, and positive behaviour.

• Utilizing sports, active play, and physical movement to engage pupils, build confidence, and teach teamwork.

• Implementing proactive de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour plans in and out of the classroom.

• Leading structured sports activities and games during breaktimes and lunchtimes to encourage positive social interactions.

• Working alongside class teachers, the SENCo, and pastoral leads to track pupil progress and celebrate successes.

Who We're Looking For

• Background: Sports Coaches, Activity Leaders, Youth Workers, or Sports Science/Coaching Graduates with experience working with primary-aged children.

• Skills: Strong communication skills, natural authority, active listening, and the ability to command respect while remaining approachable and fun.

• Mindset: High energy, resilient, patient, reliable, and passionate about helping children overcome challenges.

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

• Full eligibility to work in the UK with professional references covering the last two years.
