School Administrator – Maternity Cover

Engage Education are currently recruiting for a highly organised and friendly School Administrator to join a welcoming school in Manchester on a maternity cover basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and is confident communicating with pupils, parents, staff and external visitors.

The Role

As a School Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the school reception and welcoming visitors.
• Answering telephone calls and responding to emails.
• Communicating professionally with parents, carers and staff.
• Maintaining accurate school records and databases.
• Supporting attendance and pupil administration.
• Processing letters, correspondence and general documentation.
• Assisting with admissions and pupil records where required.
• Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks.
• Maintaining confidentiality and following safeguarding procedures.
• Working closely with teaching and support staff to ensure the school office runs efficiently.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in school administration or a similar administrative role.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A professional and approachable manner.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
• A strong understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
• The ability to work independently while being an effective team member.

Experience using school systems such as SIMS, Arbor or similar platforms would be advantageous, but is not essential.
